THE STORY WITHIN THE STORY

I will always remember the sunshine during those days of summer 2001, when we were filming part of “El lápiz del carpintero” in Compostela. We worked in Platerías and Cervantes squares, also in the psychiatric hospital of Conxo. That sunshine of rendered hopes reminded me of the tragic emotions of the sunshine of summer 1936. Compostela’s thousand-year-old stones console me with the beauty of stone and the force of free memory.
